My posting about our New Year’s Eve dinner and after party will have to wait a few days…!! I have just enjoyed a farewell dinner with my good friend Michel Jongens and Brita, who will be riding as far north tomorrow as I will be riding south… By tomorrow evening, we will be 1 500 km apart…!!
I am leaving in the morning to begin my ride to Ushuaia and “Fin del Mundo”, the End of the World… I will cross over the Andes into Argentina on Wednesday, and then turn south for the long ride to Tierra del Fuego, The Land of Fire…..and ice…!!
To Ushuaia... 3 800 km, much of it in Argentina will be on gravel roads, with wind speeds of between 60 and 80 km/h....on a good day...!!
I therefore take this hurried opportunity to wish all my friends and family, “Feliz Ano Nuevo”, or as we say back home, a Happy New Year…!!
