The Last Leg…??

So….it’s a quiet Sunday afternoon here in Jozi, and I’ve been fiddling with “Mapsource”, the program that took me around the world and allowed me to plot my routes in such a civilized manner. Try opening a 6 foot Michelin map on the open plains of windswept Patagonia and you will know exactly what I mean… But I digress…

I am trying to put together a route for my final ride in the USA, commencing early June and ending in Halifax in mid August. So far, this is the one I am keen on. It takes in 25 States and covers about 10 000 kms, a nice round number by any account !!

The Last Leg !! Twenty five states and a touch over 10 000 km. That should sort out the Wanderlust for awhile, methinks !!

Any riders on or near this route are welcome to join me. Pack your bags and get your bikes ready !!

It’s going to be a blast, of course !!

Hi Ronnie. Good to hear from you at last!. I was just thinking about you this morning and wondering how you are doing. I wish I could join you on your new planned ride in the USA. The next leg of my RTW tour is Europe in July with my wife and a biking buddy and his wife. My friend from SA did Southern Africa with me and then immigrated to the UK. We did the West part of Southern Africa in 2003 and the East part in 2004. About 16,000k’s in total.

My Son, Scott and I are setting off on Saturday on our annual local tour. Usually a week to 10 days. We alternate between a road tour and an off road tour. This year we are doing an off road tour through the Koue Bokkeveld, Tankwa Karoo, the Small Karoo and the Greater Karoo and some parts of the Eastern Cape.

Yes, I did make it across Oz in October last year. Quite an adventure!

If you are going to be anywhere near CT we have an ensuite for you here. Otherwise send me an e-mail with your local contact details so we can meet up somewhere, sometime. I go to JHB at irregular intervals.

    Best wishes.

    Trevor

    Hi cuz
Seems like a lifetime when you were here – however you are never far from my thoughts. Glad to hear you going back on the road to continue your quest. You know you and Patricia will always have a place to lay your head if you ever need to get somewhere via Australia. Lots of hugs T xxx

    And the plans start again….
“methinks” you’ll always be on the road – with an interruption of a month or two of work, now and again…
    This must be sooo exciting!!!!!
“on the road again” Can you hear that song in your mind?
    Chat soon
    BIG kisses

    Hi Ronnie,

We (myself a 7 others) are doing a ride from Toronto to Cape Breton Island (the Cabot Trail) and back in mid June. We’ll be cutting through the northern part of the US making our way via Vermont, Maine etc. I am sure we may cover a few of the same places.

I am working on setting up a blog site (http://cbbt2013.blogspot.ca/) so feel free to follow. I am sure to add your site as a link.

I use http://www.motowhere.com/ for some of the route planning – neat!
