Milestones…

The Big Fella and I have both just achieved some minor milestones… Relatively speaking, that is…!!

Today marks the 900 th day since I set out on my journey around the world…!! I can hardly believe it has been so long… Some days it feels as though I have been on the road “forever” and on others, it feels as if I am just getting started…!! Depends on which side of the bed I get out of, I guess…!!

Not to be outdone, the Big Fella has just made his 400 th visit to the petrol pumps on our world tour, and in total, the greedy devil has guzzled his way through almost 7 900 litres of fuel…!! And he remains as unapologetic about this, as usual…!! He knows full well that he could have saved me hundreds of litres to date, if he had not hauled me around at the speeds that he seems to enjoy so much…!!

Tomorrow he will have yet another birthday, as the number “180 000” flashes up on his digital screen… He will have carried me 140 000 km on this journey alone…!!

Sometimes numbers are irrelevant, but when they are this big, I think they are worth mentioning…!!

And with that, they headed for South Dakota…

Numbers are important because of the value we attach to them. Well done on all of the above numbers! Go safely and we will hopefully hear from you soon.

    Hey GB

Just had a little milestone of my own – Cape to Centurion in one day on my GS. It was on the coldest day of the year thus far – rain, snow and hail – and all of this in the Karoo!

I will be reading the remainder of your posts with great interest, and as I have been following you and the BF since you started, I am sad that it will be done one of these days, and glad for the new beginnings that wait.

    Go well!

And don’t forget you’ve had 3 birthdays as well.
Wow!!! When I look these impressive numbers, I can only smile and think back – days before your journey started – maps everywhere, Charmz, you and me with a couple of whisos….in BOKSBURG!!!

Like you said, sometimes it feels like years ago and sometimes it feels like yesterday!!!

    Take care and as always
    BIG kisses
    K
