He has wasted no time in telling me I should be getting a move on…!!
He is concerned that Cyprus may become my “Hotel Californiaâ€â€¦ !! He made special reference to the lyrics, “…you can check out, but you can never leave…â€â€¦!!
Willi has sent a few photos of his first few days over there, and I have included them here without his permission…!! In fact, I will be sending him an invoice to cover my publishing fees…!!

Meanwhile, back in Cyprus, I got it all this morning...!! Well almost everything...!!
You might remember my nervous horse ride along the Blue Nile south of Khartoum with Billy Benchley… Well, he and Christine are finally on their way down to Cape Agulhas with their horses… I received an email from them advising that they have crossed into Southern Sudan…
While the horses seem to be in good health, the same cannot be said for Billy…!! He has had a bout of Malaria, and some Typhoid thrown in for good measure…!! It took him a few weeks to recover, before they could continue on their way to Uganda…

My online Dutch friend Arno Feitsma, who at one point I considered trying to catch up with, has arrived in Kathmandu, sans his bike…!! Arno rides the Big Fella’s twin brother, and has been very helpful in assisting me to find a freight agent in Jordan from where I can fly my bike… His bike has been stuck in Jordan due to the Eid holidays…!! Seems it is not only ferries that come to halt during the holidays in this part of the world…!! I may hook up with Arno when he rides back from Nepal into northwestern India…!!
Arno in Syria... I will be visiting many of the places he did on his recent ride through the Middle East...
Just had another update from Arno, seems he will only get his bike this coming Thursday, more than a week after he arrived in Kathmandu…!! I hope I have better luck when I fly the Big Fella… He gets very lonely if he doesn’t see me at least once a day…!!
