Happy New Year…!! From the U.A.E. …!!

Happy New Year…!!

Know that I am thinking of all my family and friends and wish you all a great year ahead…!!

Here’s a song that I am listening to right now… Put your sound up and click the link…!!

New Year’s Day

Today is much like any other day here… The streets are crowded with shoppers and tourists, and about 80% of businesses are open…

Tomorrow I begin the laborious process of getting the Big Fella cleared from Customs, and with a bit of luck, I may even begin the re-assembling process (no doubt while I am receiving an earful from my trusty friend…!!)

Armed with four bananas, two naartjies, a couple of Kit-Kats and a few cans of Mountain Dew, I have decided to spend the day in the confines of my room, watching movies and generally catching up on some sleep…

More desert rides lie ahead... U.A.E., Qatar, Bahrain and Oman... And I believe a small sliver of Saudi Arabia...

From a hot and muggy Dubai, U.A.E, (Which does not stand for “Un-invited Alien Emirates” as some folk seem to think…!!)

Cheers, and have a marvelous day…!!

Been reading your blog since the very beginning – Taking back my heart – until now.I must say that i have a great respect for you the journey you are undertaking. It is people like you that give hopes to dreams of people like myself and others whom hope to do a somewhat similar – insert ‘detuned’ version of your trip oneday. The stories for each town and country are so inspirational and i find it one of the most interesting blogs on the web.

I have saved your website under favourites and will follow it whenever i am online.

Hi Ronnie, a happy new year to you and hope your trip goes well, all the best (The Hercules is a C-130, not C-160, the C-160 is a Transall)
