As you can see, news of my demise has been greatly exaggerated…!!
Not only have I had very sporadic internet connections, but I have also been on a short trip to Lombok and the Gili Islands, and buzzed around Ubud and Denpasar, meeting and making new friends, and making arrangements and plans to get to East Timor, to complete the Asian leg of my World Tour…
I am at present still here in Bali, and probably will be for a few more weeks… The reasons for this will unfold over the next few days as I bring you up to speed with the happy and exciting circumstances that I now find myself in…
I am hoping to get a secure modem later today, that will allow me unlimited access to my website, which I desperately need to keep you up to date…
When I left South Africa almost a year and half ago, many of my friends predicted that I would meet somebody with whom I would want to spend much of my time with… I know many of them sincerely hoped that this would be the case…!!
I hardly gave their comments much thought, and concentrated more on my ride than I did on meeting that “special somebody”…
Well, after more than 80 000 kms spent traveling through 79 countries, I have met just such a person…
An amazing chain of events and chance meetings, set off in Turkey in October 2010, and involving my friends Trevor and Chenty Wilson, have culminated in my meeting a girl who has truly “rocked my world”…!!
She has certainly put the shine back in my eyes...
And that is all I am about to tell you now…!! Just know that I am ALIVE, and VERY WELL…!!
And remember what curiosity did to the cat…!!

Ha…!! You reckon he can handle the extra load…?? Leaving here is going to be very difficult, but the road whispers to me still, and the itch to ride never goes away… The route has changed and there will be a few “Incommunicado” posts from time to time…!! I must complete what I have begun, but will shave a few months off the journey without missing any of what I wanted to see, so all in all…it’ll hopefully be “All fine at the end of the line…” R.
