Himalayan Times…

I have had a bit of fun browsing through the local rags to see what the nation is up to…

The paper for the peoples...

Go get them, boys...!! Protect Nepal's natural forests...!!

But folks think the government is a bit slow on the uptake... The Prime Minister is portrayed as a snail...!!

It was good to see that the government is cracking down on illegal tree felling and timber harvesting…

It would seem that many of the forestry officers put in place to protect these resources, are working hand in hand with the poachers…

Personally, I think it’s the bad influence from Nepal’s southern neighbour…!!

The news has been filled with stories of the 15 000-odd Nepali workers who are trapped in Libya…

A plane load of them returned via Turkey while I was there, to much jubilation and celebrating…

Colonel...!! Take your tent and duck...!! Make like sheep and flock off...!!

Good Gracious....!!! The buggers are poaching families now...!!! What is this world coming to...!!

I beg your pardon...!! The Gypsy Biker, as well as Trevor and Chenty Wilson are in the country, aren't they...?? The cheek of it...!!

I sat in the gardens of the Nepali Kitchen Restaurant for a small portion of each day and read the newspapers…

The restaurant is a quiet haven from the bustling road outside it's entrance...

I often ate from the set menu, enjoying the varied tastes and smells of the Nepali dishes...

This is Dhal Bat... The mutton stew is delicious... The boiled vegetables a little less so...!!

The waiters got used to me real quick, and without asking, would bring me the newspapers and a pot of coffee, and then giggle in the background as I took photos of some of the headlines…!! Probably thought I was a bit touched…!!

I'd missed my man Bryan by a week...!!

You will recall that I was unable to get tickets to see U2 in Helsinki because they had been sold out…

Well, my bad luck in this regard as continued apace…!! I missed Carlos Santana in Istanbul by two days, Eric Clapton in Dubai by three, and now Bryan Adams has joined the list of stars who seem hellbent on thwarting my presence at their concerts…!!

I can see that I am going to have to come up with a cunning plan….!!

Step 1: I’ll let it be known that I am heading for South America next…!!

That should confuse them…!!

I am damn sure, you will fall in love with the green. You can entered into Bangladesh across several indian border but its better by using Tamabil border near shilong of India.
