Cheers to, and from, Marmaris…!!

All too soon, our short holiday in Marmaris had come to an end, leaving us both with memories that we will always cherish…

We reminisced about the fun times we had enjoyed, and the few minor hassles we had to put up with and accept…

Like having to lie out in the passage of our hotel in order to get an internet signal...!!

We had tried to fill our days with as many interesting things to do as possible, thwarted by the rain on occasion, but never allowing that to dampen our spirits…

A slightly wet and bedraggled Debbie, after we were caught in the rain...

The Big Fella was always on hand to zip around town on, and riding around the bustling harbour area, dodging pedestrians on the busy walkways, was always exciting… Perhaps not so much for the pedestrians, but great fun for us…!!

The Big Fella, stripped down and ready to carry us all over town...

At dinner on our final evening in Marmaris, we shared the last bottle of wine that Debbie had brought with her, and then rode the Big Fella through the wet and dark streets, down to the very end of town, and then back up to where I would leave him for the next few days while I accompanied Debbie back to Istanbul, to see her safely onto her flight back home…

We never got to try "Charlie's Place", but judging by the tourists that usually filled the place, it was one of the "happening" spots in town...!!

Bedding the Big Fella down at Best Motors in the main street of Marmaris... Thanks again, Yilmaz...!!

Back at the hotel, we set about the “packing process”…!! That horrid thing that not only confirms that your holiday is over, but that make that thing called “work” begin intruding on your brain…!!

Debbie’s luggage weighed more than it had on arrival, which is not unusual for after a holiday, and even then a third of its weight had comprised of my rear Ohlins shock, and few other spares for the bike, as well as a host of sweeties that I had been craving…!! Like two big packets of “Fizzers”…!!

Her outward bound luggage contained a large envelope with all the maps I no longer needed, a bag of clothes that I believed I could do without, a bottle of Jameson’s Whisky that she had very kindly brought out for me, but we didn’t get to finish, and of course, there was the usual bit of “shopping” that all girls need to do to make their holidays “complete”…!!

Cheers from Marmaris...

...and a goodbye kiss from Debbie...!!

After a VERY early morning start, we headed back to the hustle and bustle of Istanbul…

Thank you Debbie for cheering up the site – good to get to know you (even though I am still not sure who you really are 🙂 )

    Have a safe journey home.

Yip, all holidays have to come to an end, but at least you don’t have to face the “BOSS” on Monday morning!!! Only the “Big Fella”……
A bit of R&R is always good for the soul and to echo your words – “it’s always great to share your memories with someone special”!!!!
Don’t make it a “goodbye” just “until later”
BIG kisses to you both and Debs – Bon Voyage!!!!

It’s unfortunate that all good things need to come to an end, including holidays, shame Debs it seems as though you have just arrived, now you leaving. That saying “time flies when you having fun” is true. Atleast you got away from Joburg and hopefully your cell was out of action. Glad you two had such a super time together.

As for you Gypsybiker, your work starts soon too. Get back on track. Big Fella is itching to go; he has had enough of Turkey!!

  • Tibor

Fun is over, let’s get back to work!

Atta boy Tibor, crack that whip and get the Gypsy Biker back out terrorizing those roads! Looks like that holiday was WAY too much fun!
