“Big Fella” gets branded…

Today I visited Kyama Print, who had very kindly agreed to do some branding on the bike. The company was recommended to me by a biker friend, George Bester, whose GX 450 had been “all stickered out” by Rakesh and his team at Kyama Print.  I wanted something simple to put on the windshield, and my website address put somewhere visible on the bike. After due deliberation, we settled on the format you see below, and in recognition of his past and future exploits, I decided to put the Big Fella’s name on the bike as well !! After all, we are a team, and this journey is about both of us, man and bike…

Although mine was a fairly straightforward job, I can confirm that Kyama Print has done many larger vehicle branding projects, and judging by their client base, have many satisfied customers. Steven had the stickers on my bike in a matter of minutes, and completed the task with minimum fuss. Thanks to Tarryn for being patient with me, and to Rakesh, for his generosity as well as the information he shared with me about his recent trip to India. His advice on how to handle the traffic there had me wide-eyed with trepidation, but I suppose “forewarned is forearmed”… I think !!!

I left Kyama in high spirits…the fact that the bike now had the trip labelled for all to see, seemed to give it even more significance than before…. On the way home, I stopped at some traffic lights, and noticed the lady in the car next to me, jotting down my website… It felt great that a complete stranger would see the bike and rider, and want to know more… Hope she enjoys the site enough to “join the ride”…!

With the initial “branding” completed, I can now start putting the stickers from my various sponsors on the bike and panniers, as well as a few others stickers that I have been itching to get on… Kyama Print is also making up stickers of the flags for all the countries I will be visiting. I decided to do this after spending two days running around Dar es Salaam in 2008, trying to find a flag sticker of Tanzania to put on the bike. Steve Luker’s gardener eventually located a few bedraggled looking stickers down at the local market, which looked as though they had been stored at the bottom of a dustbin !!

This time, I won’t be spending needless hours searching for a country’s flag sticker….they’ll all be in an envelope in my pannier !!

It's OFFICIAL !!!!!

Recognition at last...!!!

With the basic stuff in place, you can now watch as the Big Fella slowly but surely, get’s “stickered up” !!

Check it out... Join the ride...!!

It’s about time “Big Fella” had his name branded on him. I think he was beginning to feel left out.
